Student:
I have known Jeff since I was in second grade. I struggled in elementary school, and Jeff taught me an array of methods that enabled me to get through those difficult years. After that, I continued in Jeff's after-school "HomeworKlub", where approximately 5 students and myself would complete our homework with Jeff.
Jeff and I lost touch for a while when I moved to Northern California for college. After college, I decided to pursue law school. Luckily Jeff is not just an amazing grade-school tutor -- he is also a 30-year licensed attorney. Jeff tutored me throughout all of law school and for the California bar exam. Jeff's tutoring was not a crutch; rather, it was a guarantee of success on law school exams, my dissertation, and the bar exam. After taking the bar exam, because of the study methods that Jeff taught me, I already knew I had passed the very moment I uploaded my test answers. I still utilize the Jeff Cozad legal writing methods I learned to this day.
Moreover, Jeff is more than a tutor. Twenty-five years later, I consider him to be one of my closest friends and mentors. I am forever grateful to Jeff, and would highly recommend that anyone at any age level work with him. Simply put, Jeff knows how to study.

Parent:
Two of my three daughters developed a great partnership with Jeff in enhancing their academic disposition. My once rebellious daughters quickly achieved strong academic skills and workmanship. It was more than just his attention to detail in guiding them through the subjects they were struggling with, it was the creative approach he took which led to their thirst for knowledge. Jeff was instrumental in guiding my middle daughter to be accepted into NYU, where she graduated near the top of her class in 2010. My only regret is that I did not meet him sooner so he could have worked with my eldest daughter too.

Counselor:
My name is Mei Li. I would like to express my highest praise for Jeffrey Cozad. I am 33 years old and work with international students as a college counselor and admissions expert.
Jeff is the most amazing educator I have had the pleasure to work with. I work with him often tutoring ESL students who have a harder time managing classwork than typical American students. Often, they require dedicated time after school to meticulously go over material covered in class to help them study more efficiently. This is one of Jeff's greatest assets.
Jeff's patience and diligence make him a wonderful sounding board for my students and his thoughtfulness makes the ever growing homework load much more manageable, especially for ESL students. He has also helped with setting up and arranging community service projects that are fun, safe, and accessible to foreign exchange students as this is a requirement for all High School graduating seniors.
I now have many of my students being accepted to their top choice universities thanks to Jeff's tireless efforts to see my students succeed. I am very grateful for him and cannot speak highly enough on his good character and trustfulness.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Teacher:
I’m a science professor at UCLA and have known Jeff for more than 30 years. We studied and worked together in college, and then taught high school science together on occasion before my academic career. While Jeff developed a career in law, his passion has always been in teaching. I have spent much time over the years discussing teaching philosophies with Jeff, and I am always keen to hear his views about best teaching practices. Drawing from his background and advanced academic training,
Jeff brings a deeply logical and critical approach to tutoring. Over the years I have seen him dissect the most common challenges that might be holding bright students back. Every student has different learning pattern, so having someone with deep one-on-one tutoring experience develop a specific learning program for a student can be incredibly useful. Jeff is driven by a belief (which I share) that essentially all students across the spectrum are ultimately capable of mastering their school subjects, however basic or advanced they may be, given the appropriate tools and tailored feedback, and dedicated effort. In my experience this is a view that not all teachers share, and this is critical given that few if any students will excel without the gift of high expectation. Jeff’s broad knowledge of science, from years of study at UCLA and beyond, is matched only by his enthusiasm for learning and achievement. Finally, Jeff is an exceptionally clear writer (no doubt a payoff from law school). In my experience this is generally rare among those trained in the sciences, yet exceedingly important for
success in many endeavors (including science). This certainly adds breadth and impact to Jeff’s teaching. In summary, you will find in Jeff a special and talented guide and tutor.
